As we're sure many of you know, Japanese tea ceremony centers around the preparation, serving, and drinking of matcha as hot tea.
One of our favorite people in Japanese history is Sen no Rikyū, whose impact on tea ceremony is still easily recognizable today: he emphasized rustic simplicity, directness, and honesty of self.

We have been dreaming of introducing our favorite Japanese matcha for a long time. Much like our Sencha team, the source of this matcha's clean and well balanced flavor is the soil that the tea leaves are grown in.

We especially appreciate how this matcha has no unpleasant aftertaste. The tea master has a great heart and energy, which can also be detected in the tea!

This tea is grown in a deep forest in the Yame area of Kyushu. The farm never uses pesticides and passes the European Commission's stringent maximum pesticide residue level of .05 parts per million.

Of course: we enjoy making this matcha with hot water and a matcha whisk.

But we also recommend using it in an oat milk protein smoothie!

We package our matcha in a sustainable, handmade washi-paper bag with a traditional Japanese pattern printed on it.
