Dashi is the quintessential stock of Japanese cuisine. It is necessary to make the best miso soup.

The basic recipe consists simply of water, Kombu (Japanese kelp,) and Katsuobushi (fermented and smoked tuna.) 

Our pre-assembled Dashi bags have the added ingredient of powdered Gyokuro green tea from Yame (a premier tea-growing city in Fukuoka, Japan).

The sweet and vegetal flavors of the tea add balance that make the Dashi so smooth you can drink it alone.

Dashi Dream is also a wonderful seasoning to sprinkle on steamed rice and salad.
